Houses and flowers

On a walk through Mill Lane and the Greek Streets, I never cease to admire the original features of the houses, such as the traditional tiled front garden paths and colourful stained glass doors.

In Spring the flower boxes on front garden walls lift the spirits of passers-by with their bright splashes of colour. Some houses look welcoming, with a lamp in the window like a beacon in the night. Somewhere else, an inhabitant has added interest to a window by displaying a decorative horse, which may transport the mind to the country it was brought back from.
